I know, what you mean, but the way, FCp is handling it in a very different way, than fades applied in Audio Apps, like Ableton, ProTools and so on. The curvy line in between two keyframes in FCP does sound very different than a strictly linear line between two Keyframes in Ableton/ProTools. For me to handle this kind of Audio situations is very poor in FCP. I did a lot of test on this, cause I wasn’t sure at first if it’s my imagination, but the difference is quiet big.

  • That is weird. Can you describe your timeline?
Is there any clips behind the ones you wanna change? or around it? Try then to isolate the clip you wanna change, by e.g. putting that one at the end of the timeline and then apply the speed change. It works then?

Unfortunately, FCP is not including that option. With all the great features this software has – that missing bit is a real shame and always forces me to ad several keyframes and create the linear feel by myself. Or if it as to be really precies, I jump to Soundtrack or Ableton Live and do it there.
Really hope, that Apple changes that in the future.

Thanx! That sounds good. Copy&Paste – no problem. Setting up an Animation Preset – not sure how to do that.
    Could you enlighten me?

Thanx, that is what I did now. I just wondered if there was a faster way to it, e.g. dropping an effect, that is just feather/bluring the edging of a clip. But I guess, that does not exist?

    Thanx Dave,
I did manage to make it work good. I do not have the time and possibilities to re-render those files into Animation or ProRes before importing to AE, but with the tip from Raphael it does work. I just exported it into ProRes Files when I render the movie and it’s just fine.
For my Color Roundtrip at the end of the editing, I will also use the XDCAM files, which I was told will work on an updated system – I do not have the time to convert everything before into ProRes Files.
