Hopefully this is a dumb question that gets resolved by the first person who reads it…. but…. changing speed isn’t working for me.

I click on a video clip.

cmd+J to bring up the change speeds box.

Trying to make it slower, I’ll type in 80 or 70 or 60 percent. Nothing happens. Also, the duration box is grayed out. I can’t changed the duration (say make a clip from 5 to 6 seconds).

I have only frame blending turned on. Basically, it appears I’m handcuffed from some reason.

Same thing happens when I try to speed it up to 110 or 120. I type it in, press enter, and nothing happens.

Hate to say this… but I actually miss ctrl+dragging on Sony Vegas Pro. GASP.

That is weird. Can you describe your timeline?
Is there any clips behind the ones you wanna change? or around it? Try then to isolate the clip you wanna change, by e.g. putting that one at the end of the timeline and then apply the speed change. It works then?

Tried isolating in the middle and end. Nada.

However, hitting SSS works then I can drag it. That solves half the problem…. so I’m in better shape than yesterday.

Now, I just need to get the change speed to work so I can put in a custom duration and have the speed change accordingly.

Right now, the duration box is grayed out and I can’t move anything?

Are you selecting ONE video clip?
Does the clip have any effects or transitions on it?
    Is the clip enabled?
Are you selecting ONLY the video, and not the audio as well?
