thanks fred for your comments…
i want to edit just flat HD Uncompressed 10bit data, it will be simple cut edit, color grading in color and from color i’ll export to dpx file sequence and than final output through cinevator to print.
my original footage will come from jvc GY HMJ 700, as this camera records on SDHC cards in native fcp format but it is xdcam format and xdcam is 4:2:0 which is not good for chroma or color grading. so i’ve plan to capture through HD-SDi from camera itself which provides uncompressed 10bit 4:2:2 through HD-SDI output.
now suggest me, i’ve found out on decklink site that the data rate of uncompressed 10 bit 24P HD footage is 127 MBPS
please advice me what work flow should i follow.. i’m not in condition to afford high end raid arrays.
thanks anyways

March 28, 2010 at 12:08 pm in reply to: 16:9 dv pal clip playing in quicktime or exportthere are two reasons
1. I keep final edited version render to move and keep it as backup.
2. to convert it to different formats like flv or mp4.
so any help now.
well my rendered moves are not re-compressed.
thanks

i know this shortcuts but my question is how to set it default to show everything. its like every time I select clip for what ever reason may be filter settings or may audio setting this happens with all the tabs for each clip. I’ll have to sometimes ctrl+U doesn’t work either.
any solution.
thanks

I’ve tried many settings dude..
but seems all are same nothing much of a difference except the file format. quality and file size remailn more or less same to each other no matter if it is h.264, mp4..
so far flv is giving me low size and almost same quality compare to mp4 and h.264
what is your exp.

I create a 4×3 project and than import the 16×9 footage and when we drop the clip to timeline it asks for the match the timeline settings
to match clip click NO so it will be a 4×3 project with 16×9 footage letterboxed.. -
dude you have both the footage at same 24P rate… if the final output is DVD than Downconvert is better.. actually FCP will transcode the footage automatically ..
just keep the sequence settings to match your SD footage.. or you can add your sd footage 1st and when asked accept setting to match the clip setting say yes..
decide your final output..
cheers

I should do that.. i did told camera person @#$@$$$%^&&*(%$@
reshoot is not possible now.. it is dificult to rearrange the all set.
my clips are 24P 1920×1080 and i guess its XDCAM i’ll try the Magic Bullet in AE if it can do it..
its not that the very high speed camera will be needed . just a normal slo-Mo will serve my perpose.
well thanks for all your help.. it was nice to know something i didn’t know about AE
thanks
