I was actually just reading through the latest Oct. 6th DaVinci Resolve Configuration Guide!
I have to say you guys are amazing. I’ve gotten so much attention getting questions in emails answered, the help and support so far is top notch! I really hope this is the norm because it’s definitely going to bring you a lot of new customers…and keep them very satisfied with your customer service!
I’ll let you know if I come across something I feel would be useful in the guide.
My best!

Thanks for the reply! I just downloaded the configuration guide last night(Aug. 30th config. guide)and I see it has been updated(Oct. 6th config. guide). I now see the updated specs for the MacPro 2008 models! =)
The new updated configuration guide is very helpful!

So if your footage is originating from a Canon 5D/7D what would be the workflow of choice. I prefer Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 for the integration but also have Final Cut Studio 2 installed. I could start in FCP and move to P.Pro…but what would you all do? I like the native dslr file workflow in Premiere Pro CS5 but now that I’m considering Davinci for my CC I’m not quite sure what is the best route to take.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be a lot of help. I have some DSLR projects coming up.

That looks like an easier route to go I really like what you created. Thanks for the photo. I couldn’t quite visualize it-now that I see it, it makes perfect sense.
You Rock!

I had the same idea you had about running the hdmi cable out the front optical bay. I tweeted about it the other day. I would have done it already but I haven’t replaced my BMD card yet(nor do I have Resolve yet). I’m already running a Raptor and a Blu-Ray in those bays…I see 0 issue with the hdmi pulling out. If need be I’d just zip tie the cable to a couple of the holes in the front of the MacPro. EZ fix…and better than cutting holes in case you want to resale it for a few bucks later =)

This is exactly the kind of feedback I’m looking for. Man that doesn’t sound good.
So does anyone run Premiere Pro CS5 who can test this workflow to confirm there will be issues trying to take an EDL from P.Pro to Resolve…?!
Thanks for sharing the issues you’ve experienced with Adobe Premiere Pro EDL…!

Thanks for the response Illya.
I’m wondering has anyone tried using an EDL from Premiere with Resolve yet? Any issues to report back?
Premiere Pro CS5 is my editor of choice so I’d like to know if there are any issues before making an investment in Resolve.
