First create your emitter and then apply the motion path behavior to it.

What codec (file type) are you exporting to? I’d suggest either DV50 or uncompressed or ProRes.

You don’t have your sequence set up right. Your sequence settings need to match your clip settings.
What type of footage are you using? What camera was it shot on?

That’s what I thought. I just find it hard to read the news when I have to scroll through it. Maybe I’m just bad at scrolling 🙂
I just find my tendency to read the first couple of headlines and move on. I nearly missed the official announcement that Panasonic will be shipping 32GB P2 cards in November because it was so far down on the scroll list.
Anyways, I just wanted to let you know. I’ll still go for the news, but I’ll probably visit the news forum instead.
I do look forward to the new features though! Keep up the good work!

I would say that if anyone ever sits back and says, “I’m good enough not to have to learn anymore,” then they’re on the road to unemployment.
I live in a small market and there aren’t very many people who make a living off of only being an editor. They all, including myself, have expanded they’re skills outside of editing to keep themselves marketable.
In larger markets, I think it’s much more likely to have people who only edit and don’t do much anything else. But even then, if they don’t continually work on being the best editor out there, then people are just going to hire someone else with the same amount of editing skill, but who also knows AE, Motion, etc.
In my mind, the key to never becoming obsolete is to make education a life long process. This is what I strive to do. That is why I have involvement in the Cow.

I use uncompressed at 720×480 quite often and have never seen any problems with it. I’d say you’re good to go, especially if you’re going out to DVD (720×480).

In your user prefs, what is the realtime audio playback set to?

I’d look into this for sure. It sounds like you’re doing things right on the Kona card. Do you have any of the original XDCAM files to check?

I think if you’re going to have to record in free run instead of record run. I don’t think that you can do both at the same time.
If you used a timecode slate, then you could change the Aux timecode to match, but that would be a pain.
If you’re recording to P2 and not to tape, I’d just use free run time of day to sync the sound.

You’re right. Can’t shoot to P2 and Tape at the same time.
