  • Suddenly—w/3&4 audio trax—render required???

Posted by Phillip Powell on September 10, 2007 at 2:34 pm

Not sure what I inadvertently changed, but after adding and working on 3 or more audio tracks, render is required. Didn’t recall that ever happening before.

Is there some settiing I missed? It’s driving me nuts.

    Here’s the set up:
    2 mo. old G5 MacTel Quad 8
    8 Gigs RAM
    2 terabyte RAID
    FCS 6.0.1

    thanks guys

In your user prefs, what is the realtime audio playback set to?

    well, was set to 8,
but just changed it back and forth, 2-4-6-8….

    Set back to 8.

    And no render now required.

Strange, but what else is new?

Even on a G4 I left this setting on about 12. Real time audio is pretty easy. Especially for the macTels.

In fact, that G5 processor you’ve got in your new MacTel is probably what’s confusing it. 🙂

    “G5 MacTel Quad 8”

Is that some new mutated product, or did you build that yourself?

[JR-Links] “Is that some new mutated product, or did you build that yourself?”

This is the result of having your Mac too close the microwave…
