David, I completely agree with you. I think that Color rocks and can be a tremendous advantage to many user’s workflow if they can just get past the fact that it doesn’t look like a traditional Apple product. It really isn’t that difficult of an interface once you figure out the basics.

The challenge with Color is more of a technical issue of how to calibrate monitors, dealing with different color spaces, etc. So once you get the Lamborghini started up, how do you control it? It’s not an impossible task, but being accurate will be a challenge for some users.

But even with those challenges, I don’t think people should avoid Color.

If the other cameras only shoot 60i, then if you want any hope of having the look of the cameras match, then I would suggest shooting 60i. But as Jeff said, know the camera models would help a lot in making a good decision. Because there’s a chance that the cameras are so different that it will look different regardless, in which case, you might want to use it to your advantage by shooting at either 24P or 30P.

What codec and frame rate are you editing? Have you installed the latest drivers for the intensity card?

You’ll also need to know what frame rate and frame size is on the D5. That will make a really big difference in your storage needs. 720/24P is a big difference from 1080/60i when it comes to storage.
