    Hi!
We’ve got a DVCPRO HD 720p25 master sequence. The goal is to downscale it to 720×576 anamorphic video for DigiBeta output with the most quality available.
As I understand we are to render it for example to ProRes HQ, load it into Shake, downscale and export to an uncompressed 4:2:2. Is it the best method or you know better taking in count that it’s not a time-critical task, quality is more important? And what scale method would you recommend to use in the Transform node in Shake?
    Thank you in advance!

DO you have an HD capture card? Decklink? AJA? They both downconvert very well when you output through them. Just do it that way. It’s what I do.

I’ve also used compressor to downconvert, but it takes some experimenting with as your settings depend on your video.

Yeah, but realtime downconvertion is the best way to save time, not the picture I guess. The best results in realtime you may experiecne only with KONA 3. We haven’t got it anyway.

If doing it in Shake how are you compensating for the rec709 > 601 conversion ?
