I haven’t done it, but I’ve heard if you export your film as a self-contained quicktime, then export an edl of your sequence, then you can use the edl in color to divide up the self-contained quicktime into clips.

It might be worth a try.

4-pin or 6-pin is FW400 speeds.

9-pin is FW800 speeds.

So a FW 9-pin to 4-pin or 6-pin will only run at FW400 speeds.

I’m not trying to pick a fight or anything, but I hate using a tablet with FCP. It drives me crazy!

I’m much more into the keyboard shortcuts.

For starters, change the canvas to be 100%. Anything else distorts the image.

Is it still pixelated?

How full it your hard drive? Drives slow down as they fill up.

What version of FCP are you using now?

Have you deselected “Play though high-quality video” (or something like that) in the capture preset of your setting?

If you’re audio guy will accept an OMF, that’s totally the way to do it. OMF not only keeps the each track separate, but it also keeps each audio clip separate. This makes it much easier on the audio guy.

OMF’s do have a size limit, so if you have a long film then export your tracks in batches by turning them on or off.

So after playing with it some more on other systems, it turns out that only the edit systems that are connected to our SAN are having the problem. My laptop is fine. So where do I go from here?
