Using the conform in Cinema Tools works to create slow motion like he’s looking for.
It takes the 60 frames in one second and spreads them out at a rate of 25 frames per second, so the final clip is 2 seconds and 10 frames long.

First of all, your post audio guy should have already figured out setting that work for him. It drives me crazy when they don’t have a clue.
Most post audio guys I work with now just use DV files. But I would suggest using Sorenson 3.
So copy the text below and paste it into a new text document. Save it and then change the extention from .txt to .setting.
Then move the setting into the home/library/application support/compressor folder. Open up compressor and the setting should be there.There are two setting you can try. Once you’re in compressor you might have to modify the setting for your picture aspect ratio.

Rumors are about Final Cut Pro 6 and Final Cut Extreme. Check Apple’s website on April 15 after about 1:00pm. It’s their big NAB announcement.
I haven’t heard anything about including native mxf editing.

Does MXF include the audio or is it just video?

I don’t know much about the file type so I not really sure why you would want to? Would there be an advantage over DVCPROHD?

Yup. When you go to the P2 Import window, you are playing the .mxf files from the CONTENTS folder of the P2 data. Then you import it into QuickTime files to edit.

There is nothing official about this, but FCP will be way behind the game if they don’t introduce compatibility for this at NAB. So check on Apple’s website at around 1:00pm on Sunday, April 15.
