Even if you don’t have BCC, you should have “Avid FX” – which includes BCC Glow and many other filters you can animate to achieve this look.

This from Chepal in Germany, regarding rebuilding BPAV folder structure from orphaned files:
in clip_browser
_file_import_choose your mp4s and they will appear in the top left window
_in the bottom left window direct to the area you want to be in and create a new folder_select it

_drag your mp4s from the top window to the bottom

_look at the folder on your hard drive and you would find it has created
new folder_BPAV_and all the stuff it needs.

If you still have the files in a BPAV folder, you can also use Sony Clip Browser to export the file to mxf and use AMA with those files, or import those into MC. Actually even if they’re orphaned files you can still rebuild the BPAV folders (do a search for the procedure).

Thanks Michael – that was it exactly – my AvidMedia folder was within an archive folder on the backup drive. Moved it to the root and works like a charm. Big duh moment.

Michael – once one has archived a project using mediacopy, how does one get it back? I did a test, copying all bins etc to a portable drive, copied the avid project file to another system, then opened the project on that system. Tried to relink the files and sequences to the portable drive, no go.
