Haven’t changed anything recently. Still on FCP 4.5 running OS X 10.3.4 and QT 6.5.1

This just happened halfway through my capture session this morning. Clips I did up until a certain point we fine, then this bizarre problem cropped up.

I did have a crash in between, so perhaps I should trash my preferences and see if that fixes things… Other than that, I’m baffled.

Thanks for the help. Seems like a simple enough thing for Apple to fix. I’ll look for it in the next upgrade! In the meantime, I’ll use the highly technical analog PostIt fix…

Just for kicks, try changing the size by a few pixels and re-saving. I’ve had that work (for no apparent reason) from time to time.

Hi –

I’ve had this issue from time to time as well, though it doesn’t always seem consistent in terms of how large an image it takes to lock up/crash FCP. With that said, I have found that the vertical dimension seems to be the one that causes the most heartache. I know that sounds odd, but, if you’re like me, you don’t always get handed images which are in either 4:3 or 16:9 — they are sometimes huge vertically.

Instead of starting a new post, let me add a problem I encountered yesterday, relative to the Title tool…

I made two titles with Title 3D, and moved them slightly on screen using the motion effects. One was getting larger, the other smaller. however, they were not doing this smoothly. There was a small, yet very perceptible vertical offset of each title as it moved, as if it were throbbing a bit and not interpolating correctly. I redid the titles in the simple Title tool and the problem when away, but this is troubling.

Is there potentially some preference or effect I’ve switched on or off that could cause this?

I’m running FCP 4.5.
