My favorite version of the song, well behind the writer Leonard Cohen, is the version by “Over the Rhine,” which can be seen and heard here…
Over the Rhine is an Ohio-based band that never got very much fame but they have made incredible albums for about 15 years now. Quite good, as this clip shows.

I didn’t ban him, Captain. I gave him a warning, which I would have done regardless of who he did this to. When he starts getting this weird and caustic, then he’s going to meet Cowdog. If he doesn’t take the warning and does this again, he’ll meet the blocker.

There is a whole “mega-thread” on this subject in the After Effects forum’s stickies posts area, found at the very top of the page. There is tons of feedback there. Please read it and don’t ask people to answer the same questions that they have been answering over and over since the Intel Macs shipped. It would be appreciated.

I didn’t feel the need to warn him of the Mac Intel / AE issues as he works for a major broadcaster. The year will end and we’ll be discussing CS4 before the deal is done. ;o)
But hey, I wonder when those beer-dispensing Intel Macs will be rending all those tiny bubbles???

If you want the dream machine and it must be a Mac, be sure and spec out some fans also. ;o)
Or, get a small child’s pool from Wal-Mart and keep it handy as Summer approaches. ;o)
Kathlyn and I use the multi-proc Macs and it is as if the Earth rolled out of its orbit and suddenly drew closer to the Sun.
There is nothing like multi-cores in Summer.
Order beer, says Cowdog. He should know, he loves his beer.
So, in closing, a true dream machine has to include beer.
Tell your bosses at NBC/Telemundo that Cowdog says so. They’ll understand.
Oh, and don’t settle for anything less than the new dual-quadcores with at least the ATI Radeon X1900 video board or the nVidia Quadro FX 4500 if they are feeling especially generous.

If you are on Windows, these kinds of things can be done using ULTRA which is a Serious Magic technology now owned by Adobe (and which will be in the next CS3 bundle).
If you are on a Mac, add a PC to your studio and look at a product called ULTRA, or buy an Intel Mac, add Parallels or Bootcamp, load Windows and look at ULTRA.

Like you, Jerry, I used to *try* to use DLT for back-up but it was just so slow to use that it was not practical. Maybe that has changed but last I looked, it was still the case.
