I remember back when i was using Houdini i could project perspective on objects. Say i woudl have an image of a car in 3/4 view and then i would roughly align a cube an dproject that car texture and then i could dolly the camera around the object and teh software would try to mimick the texture stretch… Is similar thing possible in AE???

I’m working on a tutorial for this. It’s called camera projection. It’s a bit tricky to set up but very useful. The key is using a spot light to transmit light of a layer on to your solid surfaces.

    Good Luck,

EH — I know there is a plug-in that does psudo texture projection for simple geometry like — say a house — where all the sides are poker straight — but for a car that could be tricky —

I’ll poke around for the plug-in, if you have the budget of course.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s my understanding that the new PhotoShop and AE can team up to do this, no?

AH its the BUENA CAMERA MAPPER
(and its CINCO DE MAYA — HOW IRONIC!!!)

Its like a ghetto version of REALVIZ’s Imagemodeler for AE.
