As long as you have corresponding timecodes Plural Eyes sorts it, so edit with onboard first and then get Plural to do its magic. Test it with a couple of random minutes first just to make sure.

Well Apple in their infinite greed have made it impossible to import FCP 6 files into FCP 7, two almost identical bits of software, so I’d be mighty surprised if you could import files made in another company’s software.

I could be wrong though, so interested to hear other answers.

There are programs out there, this is a rotoscoping problem, I know Nuke and I think Smoke can handle this easily, you might even be able to do this in After Effects.

Or you could go into Color and use a vignette and a tracker, probably a bit clumsy to do it that way, but if the subject doesn’t move that much, it’ll be relatively simple and if it works, it works.

Of course they don’t care about you, I think people are at last waking up to what a crappy company Apple are, they made their name being a specialist boutique company. Now they’re the biggest company in the world and all they care about is becoming bigger and more profitable.

Yet their marketing is such that I can bet a penny to a pound that people take offence to me calling them a crappy company, it’s quite incredible really.

I have to agree with Shane’s second reply, the minute he started comparing iDVD to DVD SP and Encore I stopped watching. I wanted to stop when he said his students didn’t find Color very useful and when he reckoned it was fine that FCP X had integrated that feature.
