[Elbire Rico] ” I know how to track multiple points but not how to link them on an object”

It’s strange that you are able to track BUT not link your tracking data/points to an object. Tracking invariably involves tracking an object – ie the tracking data is representative of the motion or orientation of the object that you track.

Anyway … there is a very good Webinar later today –
    https://www.imagineersystems.com/company/events/live-training-webinar-3d-camera-solving-in-mocha-v3

A lot of the tracking, in the example video you posted, involves 3D tracking. This Webinar will cover topics and techniques that should help to demystify 3D tracking with mochaPro.

  • Apparently with CC you can download the latest updates as soon as they are available AND of course such timely updates were not available prior to CC!!!

What a complete and utter lie from Adobe!!!

Eamonn, you need to provide more details on why your workflow is failing you. Hopefully you will be able to resolve your issue after watching the tutorial that Joe has prescribed. If this is not the case, then let us have details on your workflow – number each step and explain what you did. Then describe as best you can, the result of your tracking – best to provide a video sample.

  • [John Cuevas] “There is a special offer for the first year too, so if you have CS6, AE should be 9.99 for your first year. Existing Customers First Year Plan”

Adobe has continued with their ‘aggressive’ non-US pricing, with CC. IOW, folks outside of the US have to pay a premium for access to CC.

Pllease add Blender (for FREE 3D and node-based compositing) and https://www.hitfilm.com for low-cost, high-quality composting.

Adobe is a stock market listed ‘marketing’ company – they need money more than anything else!

  • There is a ‘single-app’ proposition from adobreeee. You will, supposedly, be able to sign up for for the cloud for a single app licence. But what do I know??? Adobreeeee is a marketing company – sheeesh!!!!!!!

There are TWO new forums created specifically for such threads/posts –
    https://forums.creativecow.net/adobecreativecloud
    AND
    https://forums.creativecow.net/creativeclouddebate

I believe we’ll all get better mileage at the appropriate forum. Let’s stick to AE CC posts, for any cloud threads/posts in this forum.

  • [Robert Maric] “I have collapse transformations and 3d enabled for the layer.”

You should have Collapse Transformations switched on for the nested comp – this is absolutely necessary to each embedded layer’s 3D-ness into the ‘final comp’.

BTW, it may not be necessary to switch on Collapse Transformation for the layers in the precomps.

May 10, 2013 at 9:56 pm in reply to: Convert Layer Effect to Mask Keyframes?

IF you use solid/flat colors for at least one of the transition layer, you can follow that up, in a nested composition with Auto-trace to create your mask.

One major issue that may crop up is with the edges of the layers. I suggest that your layers and precomps be sized about 20% larger than the ‘final comp’ to preclude having to fix unwanted/enexpected edge issues after applying Auto-trace.

Lastly, the Wipe transition is a raster effect.
