    Shutter Phase should almost always be -1/2 of Shutter Angle when doing inserts in conjunction with matchmoving. The formula ensures that AE’s MB is centered to the movement which is what is the norm for realworld cameras.

    Rotoscoping MB objects should require analogous Shutter Phase/Shutter Angle settings.

    Apply the following script to the particle system’s emitter.

    TargetLayer=thisComp.layer("cigar");
    TargetLayer.toComp([150,0,0])

    You can tweak the values [150,0,0] to place the emitter precisely, as per your needs.

  • Thanks for the reply Dan. There shouldn’t be a race to see which Expression goes first since collectively, there is only one checkbox that will be switched on at a time.

    Collectively, the Expressions are to check which checkbox has been switched on. Singularly, each Expression checks on which other checkbox has been switched On and if none of the other has been switched On then the current checkbox will be switched On.

    Is this not possible? Time for an FR?

    Cheers

  • You have to keyframe the mask path to isolate the problem areas.

  • You should mask out the areas (in a precomp) that include extraneous movement – folks walking and billowing banners will throw off any stabilizer.

    Once you’ve masked out the ‘problem areas’ you should nest the comp and apply the Warp Stabilizer.

  • Try AE’s Warp Stabilizer.

  • Instead of the method I specified in the earlier post, you could also offset the tracked position by keyframing the Anchor Point.

    AE’s Camera Tracker creates KFs for Position and Orientation. Perhaps the issue is with Orientation instead of Position.

    The solved camera that AE creates contains KFs for Position and Orientation. To view the position KFs (Motion Path) for the camera in the Comp Panel, switch to a 3D view that allows you to view the active/solved camera visual representation. You should be able to view the camera’s Motion Path to identify the problematic KF.

    I suggest that you switch to 2 Views so that you can view the Active Camera view while you adjust/delete the problem KF.
