I would look into using Displacement Mapping in AE. You may also look to see if BOris’ particle generator has built-in physics that provides something similar to wind.

I would look into using Particle Playground for the sticky bit. Use Kinetic Friction in the Persistent Property Mapper section to get things going. It’ll look for white areas for it to stick to. I suggest that you render one pass of the Zaxwerks logo with texture that has white at the parts where you want to snow to stick and black everywhere else. Then use this rendered movie as your source for the Persistent Property Mapper.

Use the Text->Number plugin. The trick is in setting a value for the Random/Value parameter. It’s pretty straight-forward.

Apple Trainers are a dime a dozen. This sounds like pure poppycock of the highest order. Tell your Apple Trainer to come here so that I, and the others here can smack his BS butt!

    We’re all COW. No BS!

WIth a motion control rig, one would perform two passes. Once without the characters to get the background and the second pass with the characters in place. The characters would put on skin-tight blue/green leotards and then their costumes over that.

That’s how I see this being done for video. Just a tohught though.

There’s an Autosave setting in AE7 – use it.

I’d use Particle Playground with Gravity set to zero. Create a Layer Map for the cells. Animate particle position and particles per second to taste. This looks achievable once you have a decent grounding with Particle Playground.

    Good Luck

It sounds like your machine iasn’t fast enough to process the frames when the movie is uncompressed. Have you tried a RAM preview of the rendered movie? Take a look at the Info WIndow to see if AE is playing the frames in realtime. If it is then check to ensure that the motion is now smooth. RAM is much faster than harddisk and that is one way to view movies with high datarates (uncompressed for example). You should also read on datarate issues and coming to grips with how computers process information.
