Boiling edges is a good indicator that RotoBrush may not be the tool for the job. In effect, there is insufficient contrast between your roto object and its background.

Having said that, the Refine Hard Matte effect has a Reduce Chatter prop which helps reduce boiling artefacts.

You can combine traditional roto with Rotobrush. The workflow is to RotoBrush, followed by subtracting the boiling areas and then using traditional roto techniques for this area.

Hi Marcin, as you now know, always get the best track possible before using the Adjust Track Module.

BTW, the keyframing strategy I’ve mentioned, and which you use, will work similarly if you did the adjustment in AE. You do need a few simple Expressions to set up the workflow. The advantage in AE is that it’s easier to work with the Graph Editor – this will come in handy (though not all the time) by reducing the number of manually adjusted keyframes you require.

Have you followed the steps I proposed in my last post, in this thread?
Do you have any specific questions regarding those steps?

FWIW, mocha, by default works with linear keyframes. Regardless of this, the Adjust Track works by creating keyframes that offset the original tracking data. Nothing is done directly to the original tracking data. What you get is another level of tweaking the tracking results.

AE’s Timeline is customizable in terms of what you see. That area you circled is known as the Switches column. It is there by default. You or someone else must have inadvertently set it to not be displayed.

To get display the Timeline’s Switches panel, right click on any column header in the Timeline and go through the menu that appears after you right click. Select Switches. If that doesn’t work then click on the left-most (from a set of three icons) icon at the bottom-left of your Timeline.

Actually, from your initial post, I couldn’t get a grip on what you wanted. However, I feel that my post should sort your needs out.

I suggest that you first center all your layers (if this is indeed what you want). Then, use AE’s Snapping Feature to set each layer’s Anchor Point to suit your exacting needs.

You’re the only person I know that installs plugins only as and when they need to use it. I suppose that you then uninstall these plugins as soon as you are done with the project? This doesn’t sound like an efficient way to use plugins.

I too doubt that DNxHD works in non-HD formats, ie SD and ultraHD formats AND it’s well-known that Avid CODECs allows the user to select ‘strange’ resolutions for export/render even though the exported/rendered will be conformed to the CODEC’s supported resolutions.

Use the Snap feature (select Anchor Point with the Anchor Point/Pan Behind Tool and hold down CTRL/Command) to place your Anchor Points (AP). TIP – Snapping targets include layer boundaries as well as Guides.

Once you have all the APs set up, use the Align Panel to center the layers. Do this easily by selecting all layers. Then set the Align to work with Composition instead of Selection. Then click on the Horizontal Align, followed by the Vertical Align buttons.
