I’m having some crashes on a project and just got a message in vegas saying
An update to Vegas Pro software is now available. Version 12.0.765 includes numerous fixes and improvements. That was today 11/21/2013
Should I go for this?
I’m using V726 right now.

You must have hit Shift V to insert it.
YOu can double click it to add points to the line and then grab the point and raise or lower the volume. Or grab the blue line between two points to raise or lower an area. There are many variations to that.
Shift P will add a red line which is used the same way but for panning audio.

Yes, I use Caption Assistant written by John. It’s a great program.

I’m not sure so don’t take my word but I think you’ll need another CC file. Another issue may concern rendering in drop frame or non drop frame. We ran into this before where they could only use the CC file with one or the other depending on the type of equipment they had.
It is true that Vegas can imbed the CC file into a MXF file. That’s the way we give our shows to PBS.
John Rofrano is knowledgeable at this. Hopefully he’ll read your post and save the day.

There is a loss of time depending on if you render “drop frame” or non drop frame”. I ran into this with our PBS show. Kept coming up a few frames short until John Rofrano figured the problem out.
If you right click on the time counter just above the track options on the left you’ll see that option.

I’m familiar with the manual/auto focus so I’m OK with that.
I have the iris set to manual.
I have the “auto mode” set to “full auto mode set to OFF”
and I am still getting a change in exposure when I something of a light color goes into frame.
I’m still missing something.
The “shutter” just below the lens is set to ON.

Wow! That’s great information. The manual was not clear at all.
I’ve set the zebras to “both” like you said.
So now if I’m clear on this:
The one set of zebras show it totally blown out and the other set shows me the 80%. Is that correct in my understanding?
And if you’d be kind enough to explain a bit more, why would I need an 80% at all? Why not just see what is blown out and then drop just below that?

I’m not sure what you’re asking and probably can’t answer it anyway. I’ve got a system down that works and beyond that I’m pretty much lost.
