    Hi,

I need to send to a TV station a XDCAM HD with closed caption.
I read somewhere that the Vegas export mxf XDCAM SD file with closed caption. Is this true?

I have the scc file made by a CC company but they told me that the file was made for SD and probably will not work for XDCAM HD.

Have any way to export a MXF XDCAM HD file with closed caption using Vegas, and this file can be copied to a disc using Sony PDW-U1?

I need another scc file especially for HD?

    thanks in advance.

I’m not sure so don’t take my word but I think you’ll need another CC file. Another issue may concern rendering in drop frame or non drop frame. We ran into this before where they could only use the CC file with one or the other depending on the type of equipment they had.
It is true that Vegas can imbed the CC file into a MXF file. That’s the way we give our shows to PBS.
John Rofrano is knowledgeable at this. Hopefully he’ll read your post and save the day.

    Thank you Roger,

Waiting for the hint of John Rofrano.

BTW do you know if the plug-in “Caption Assistant” cam be used to generate and imbed the CC into a MXF HD file?

    All the best.

Yes, I use Caption Assistant written by John. It’s a great program.
