Never rename the CONTENTS folder or rename/remove any files in it’s subfolders. I assume that you renamed the CONTENTS folder because if you do you’ll get lots of individual clips. If you don’t, Premiere Pro “stitch” those spanned clips together into one (1) clip.

I name my folder like this:
/Project_name/Media/Card_01/CONTENTS
/Project_name/Media/Card_02/CONTENTS
/Project_name/Media/Card_03/CONTENTS
/Project_name/Media/Card_04/CONTENTS

Iow, one card in it’s unique folder instead of renaming the CONTENTS folder. Use whatever name that suits you if Card_01 etc don’t describe enough about the media. 🙂

I think it is very precise, but a regular mouse is better. It works for me without issues in Premiere Pro/After Effects/Photoshop/MS Word.

The difference is minor and nothing that makes me scream or annoys me. (The pain from the mouse did make me scream…)

The best hardware investment i have ever done. The issues with pain will not go away, but this one will help you out so you can work longer without issues. The first days are tricky since you move the mouse pointer with the rollerbar but once you get used to it you will not look back. 🙂

Make sure to give us an option, to change the Player Settings of the Timeline from BMD to Adobe when needed, just the way we can change the Player Settings for the Source panel today. (For the Source: Edit > Preferences > Player Settings)

Copying and pasting Timelines to get around this issue is not a good solution.

It would be great to have a BMD Timeline and when having trouble with the playback, just change the Player Settings on the current Timeline to Adobe and continue to edit, and when one need the BMD output, just switch back the Player Settings to BMD and rock on.

Last time (everytime) i speak with Adobe on this very request they claim that this feature is already able to add by BMD today, IOW its not an Adobe-to-do. 🙂

Adobe Mercury Playback Engine is fantastic in software mode and when you add any certified graphic card it so unbelievable great when you enable GPU Accelleration.

For example, i have a 6 minutes and 40 seconds long 720p50 AVCHD Timeline with Three Way CC on all clips. With GPU Accelleration enabled that Timeline renders out to MPEG2-DVD highest quality in only 1 minute and 36 seconds. (I see slightly longer render times with interlaced 1920×1080 AVCHD, but way faster than software render alone.)

Yes, Encore supports GPU Accelleration when using Dynamic Link from Premiere Pro CS5.

I have not compared with an i7, but i7 + GPU Accelleration is way faster than the i7 alone with any of the five certified cards.

I interpret your spec that you have a Decklink SD.

Yes, there is no problem playing back uncompressed SD from a modern drive, but Leo want to playback HD and thats another beast. A single HDD cannot sustain the data rate required for uncompressed HD footage. Compare uncompressed SD with HD and see it for yourself! 🙂
