July 7, 2014 at 12:45 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC 2014 update crashes when using plug-insI’m still getting several crashes throughout the day and the editing isn’t anything complicated. Hopefully there will be some updates from Adobe to stabilize the software. I have another editor which is am HP Z820 setup to Adobe’s Standard running CC and the stability is just as bad. may go back to release 6.0.5. I’ m starting to wonder if it’s GPU related since there has been no update release from NVidia

June 30, 2014 at 1:24 pm in reply to: Premiere Pro CC 2014 update crashes when using plug-insDid you install the latest certified release for all Red Giant Plugins? They announced it’s now available the previous version would not work with CC2014 release. On another note I am having crashes all over the place with this release I was hoping CC2014 would be stabler than CC but it’s actually worse. Thinking of going back to CS 6.0.5. Cant’ work under the deadlines I have with continuous white screens and crashes while launching and while editing. I’m on a PC and I know it’s not a permissions issue like I’m seeing that will supposedly fix all the Mac systems.

Thanks Mark for giving me a thorough analysis of what you do and how it has been for you. This gives me a little idea on the road we will be embarking on in the future. I would agree that it all depends on the user and the hardware that comes with the software to make it work smoothly, effectively and of course producer expectations.
A note on the DVCPro there are still times I have issue capturing even with my Avid Symphony Nitris system so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an issue with the Deck rather than the Adobe software. Thanks again for your feedback.

We are using XDCam in our facility. The workflow is pretty nice with our Avid Media Composer Adrenaline 2.2.9. We do short form work but you can start with the MPEG proxies to do your rough cut and then when you have your edit setup you can then do a batch import of the native mfx format and bring the IMX50 resolution in place of the material you have used in your sequence and everything falls into place. When you import the footage you do not have the option of resolution it will come in at it’s native format(DV25, IMX50 ect). Depending on what deck you are using you can also do digitizing if you prefer. There is no search time at all once you enter a timecode and hit cue you are instantly there. We do everything as an import but if you prefer the traditional tape machine method there is that option the only downfall more conversions of the clip. We have the deck connected to a third party firewire card in the our HP XW8200. Do not use the firewire port on the motherboard you will have conflicts with the adrenaline. Hope this helps

Jon I changed the setting in general that didn’t change the setup increase coming from the DVCPro SDI Feed. It did effect levels on the avid but not the ingetsing of the SDI. We had this similar problem with the Discreet Edit running the Matrox DigiSuite SDI. It didn’t work either. If you moved up to the DVCPro 50 everything worked great. I am coming to the assumption that there is an issue with DVCPro25 SDI. The story was from Matrox it is was a Panasonic problem and Panasonic said it was a Matrox Problem, finally moved to Analog Component and everything was great. Thanks for the info though. My next move will be to call Avid Tech Support.
