  • Premiere Pro CC 2014 update crashes when using plug-ins

Posted by Lewis Stiefel on June 26, 2014 at 4:08 am

So I just updated my Premiere Pro to CC 2014 and I am already pulling my hair out. Everytime I use a 3rd
party plug-in i.e. Magic Bullet or NewBlue my computer crashes. It also has crashed several times when I
am editing in Multicam. Very buggy update. Tried going back to previous version CC and won’t allow me to open project created in CC 2014. Also they r coming out with all these new improvements yet they still have not fixed the audio bug where the mute button will randomly come on. Anyone else having these problems. Thanks for any insight and advise.

I find it to be highly buggy as well. It is virtually inoperable when AE is open (an AE project that is dynamically linked, not sure if it’s the reason), several audio issues as well. I haven’t done any multi-cam yet but I was hoping it was improved, as I ran into some issues in CC’s multicam

Did you install the latest certified release for all Red Giant Plugins? They announced it’s now available the previous version would not work with CC2014 release. On another note I am having crashes all over the place with this release I was hoping CC2014 would be stabler than CC but it’s actually worse. Thinking of going back to CS 6.0.5. Cant’ work under the deadlines I have with continuous white screens and crashes while launching and while editing. I’m on a PC and I know it’s not a permissions issue like I’m seeing that will supposedly fix all the Mac systems.

I haven’t used Red Giant before but just installed today and have been getting crashes with both CC 2014 and CC 2013. Put a ticket into RG but dead in the water for now.
Both versions of CC repeatedly crash on attempting to open projects that closed normally.

I’m still getting several crashes throughout the day and the editing isn’t anything complicated. Hopefully there will be some updates from Adobe to stabilize the software. I have another editor which is am HP Z820 setup to Adobe’s Standard running CC and the stability is just as bad. may go back to release 6.0.5. I’ m starting to wonder if it’s GPU related since there has been no update release from NVidia

See this interesting discussion on the Linkedin Premiere list: https://www.linkedin.com/groupItem?view=&gid=157827&type=member&item=5885033007076622337&qid=9b4c9641-d8da-46bf-abde-d3a70f41c3d3&goback=.gmr_157827.gde_157827_member_5891739910234210305.gmr_157827

Apparently the Red Giant plugins are officially not working with Pr 2014 (per Red Giant).

I’ve gone back to using Pr CC 7.something from fall 2013.
