The process works, but I have to do it to each clip this way. Can I toggle a track control for this or do i have to wait to render then crop that?

Thank you, George. I think that’s what I had done previous to my first email, because the outcome is the same, as you can see from the new screen shot. The timeline image is squeezed. I did begin with a custom template of 1080×1080. Do I need to go back and start with 1920×1080?

It isn’t rotating. What am I missing?

Sorry here is the Project box
Vegas is not rotating the image as spec’d in the box. Rather it is letterboxing it. I want the entire image rotated to vertical if possible without the black bars.

yes, Graham — in project whereI can rotate 90 degrees, but it doesnt translate to the timeline that way.
