Well it seems there is absolutely 0 support on this forum………nice! I don’t understand how someone can fully test out a product without support from those who know it well. I mean this looks like an extremely nice product, but how can you know until you are able to do what you’re interested in doing with it? Yes, it’s easy to let good low resolution results. But getting effects on HD footage is proving to be a bit of a challenge. I’m left with experimenting with various output formats, to see which ones are actually workable, and yield the desired results. I am making headway but it’s a long labourious task. One that would have been so much simpler with guidance! And yes, I did watch the video at Wondertouch on working with HD footage, but it’s too vague for my taste. I need detailed render formats, bit rates, resolutions etc. While I’m ranting, there is another issue that should be addressed. The fact that PI doesn’t maintain the audio portion of the clip. It would be so much simpler to sync up PI footage with the original footage in a NLE if the audio was intact. You could use a tool like Plural Eyes to sync them up exactly and easily. Anyways, it seems like I’m just yelling in the wind, looks like no one’s at home in this forum. I’ll figure it out on my own.

Ok, that would explain why it’s in slow motion in Particle Illusion as well, thank you. So I guess my next option is to export from Vegas in a “lossless” format that Particle Illusions supports? Then export the finished footage from Particle Illusions using the same “lossless” format? Say maybe Lagarith or Huffy UV? I’ll give that a try. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.

Hey Mike, I’d like to offer a possible solution. I had this exact thing happen to me when I bought my new HD Camcorder. I plugged into the front USB port, and no communication. I resolved my issue by plugging into my rear USB port. Odd, I know…….but I read about it on the net, and Voila it worked for me! Strange things is, other devices work fine with my front USB port, such as thumb drives etc., but not my Camcorder. Hope this works for you too?

As has already been mentioned Autotune is the major effect here, as annoying as it is. There also are a few other things going on. Firstly the lead vocal is doubled and panned right and left in the chorus, and the reverb is increased dramatically and Autotune is applied. But if you listen closely there is also the effect called “Vocoder” used on a low harmony of the main melody. All of these things combine together to create the effect you’re talking about. Anyways, I would like to throw my hat into the ring for anyone needing Professional Audio recordings, whether it’s effects or full-blown SoundTracks, I can do it all. I run a State-of-the-Art Recording Studio with the latest in Hardware and Software, and can Produce SoundTracks that rival any Hollywood Movie, at an extremely low cost. Think of me,when you need mind-blowing audio, done FAST, on a budget! I may be years behind you guys in Video Production, but I make up for it in Audio Production.

You’ll need a GreenScreen background, you can buy one here. https://www.go2productions.com/greenscreencompositing.php?gclid=CJeW2snGy6sCFQx3gwodU0KO0Q Simply shoot your Actor in different positions and depths on the screen and use the Vegas GreenScreen video effect to overlay all the footage.

Thank you for sticking with me through this issue, Frederic, it’s appreciated. Well it turns out changing the field order did improve things slightly, but still there is an interlacing problem on fast moving objects in the foreground. I guess I’ll just have to live with it, but it’s far from the quality I was expecting from my new Full HD camcorder.

September 22, 2011 at 5:23 pm in reply to: Rendering to hard drive issues

I agree it may be shutting off or it’s formatted in Fat32. Go inside your Control Panel, double click on “Power Options”. Click on the “Power Schemes” Tab. Set your power schemes to “Always on” and your “Turn off hard disks” to “Never”, to fix the first problem. To see what that hard drive is actually formatted as, go into the Control Panel again and double click on “Administrative Tools”. Double click on “Computer Management”. In the left panel single click on “Disk Management”. In the right panel scroll down to the drive in question. Verify it’s formatted in NTFS. If it is, then that’s NOT the problem. These instructions will be slightly different in Windows 7, but should be enough to get you there. Let’s me know if that resolved your issue?

  • Ok, thanks for sticking with me on this issue. So you’re thinking it is a Interlace problem, ok let’s pursue that angle. To that end I’m going to be as precise as I can be about my original footage and what I’m rendering it out as. Original footage is:
    Video is NTSC 1920 x 1080 x 12, 60i, 29.970 fps. Alpha = None, Field Order = Upper first, AVC.
Audio is 48,000 Hz Stereo Dolby AC-3
    Rendering settings are:
Video is MPEG-2 DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream, 720 x480 29.970 fps. Lower field first, YUV 6 Mbps, Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.2.12 Video Quality High (31) Variable Bit rate Max. 9,500,000, Average 6,000,000, Minimum 192,000. DC coefficient 9 Bit. Allow field based motion compensation.
    Audio is AC-3
Ok, right off the bat the first thing I notice is the field orders are opposite, so I’ll switch the render settings to Upper Field first, and try that. I’ll let you know how it goes. If you have time look through the other settings and see if anything stands out as incorrect. Thanks for your help!
