Gentlemen, I’ve run into a tiny snag, I’m hoping someone can help me out? I’m rendering out of Sony Vegas 10 to .avi format (Default template uncompressed) This is for importing into Particle Illusions. The video plays in slow motion within that program, so I tried playing the footage in my Windows Media Player. There too, it plays in slow motion. So I’m assuming I need a codec, but I have no clue which one. Can anyone offer any solutions? Or is it something completely different? The goal is special effects on top of HD footage, with the highest possible resolution on the finished product. Thanks for any and all advice offered.

I have never seen a computer yet that can playback an uncompressed HD AVI in real time. This format is usually used as a lossless format for editing, just as you are, but it’s not suitable for realtime playback.

Ok, that would explain why it’s in slow motion in Particle Illusion as well, thank you. So I guess my next option is to export from Vegas in a “lossless” format that Particle Illusions supports? Then export the finished footage from Particle Illusions using the same “lossless” format? Say maybe Lagarith or Huffy UV? I’ll give that a try. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.
