    Hi John

Do you think the all whistles and bells PDW700 version has good chance of becoming an across the board camera for doco/corp anything but really highend HD ie replacing the Varicam/HDX900/Sony 750 and even F900 camera,s ?

The Aussies will get pissed off if you write Sidney… and may strip search you 🙂

Tokyo is 100V so your US bulbs will be ok,pretty sure the others are all 230V-240V as ex Brit handouts.Just get 240V bulbs rather than transformers. You will need travel plugs also ofcourse.

You,ll need paper work for your gear, for customs.

Thanks, yes I,d heard about this somewhere down the line.

So how is setting tape numbers for example best done? Tried it recently on each tape change, either before setting the TC,or after, but then when I switched it back to User bit, after shooting, there would be flag and frame numbers, and no where could I find my tape number settings?

Its been a bit of a mystery to me for a while now!

    Thanks

Have been sometimes putting the tape number in the user bits, handy for when you go over 23 tapes.

Dont know why but with the HDX900 and the varicam,I put in the numbers, but they seem to get lost,or other numbers come up.Sometimes the frame rate.

    Thanks

Thanks for the info.Wish they would just put it out with all the bells and whistles in the first place! I might have paid off an HDX900 by now!! waiting for this camera! but was put off by Pana saying it was their last tape camera.!

Was so easy when it was all digibeta 🙂

    Thanks

Yes the vertical latitude of how far before the tray comes into shot depends on the angle of the lens. The wider the less latitude.
And mostly you,ll be wanting to use the grad on big wide shots.Landscape stuff.
