Its a half way house between 16-9 and 4-3.Meaning shoot for the full 16-9 frame, but keep important material within a frame ratio of 14-9.Most pro 2/3 inch video camera,s have this ratio as an option as a safe area in the view finder in their menu,s.

As people get 16-9 TV,s it will become obsolete… better than 4-3 safe anyway!

Was there a few weeks ago.. no problems at all… BUT if your shooting around (sensitive) area,s eg Buckingham Palace,Downing street,M15 building ,any Embassies esp the US… Whitehall area… you may get a visit from The Old Bill…

But nothing like shooting in Washington!!!!

    Ok thanks!

  • Glad it worked out… classic case.. some high up decides to like the look of one camera… and it then becomes set in stone.. power to the freelancers haha!

I havnt bought an HD camera yet… should have got the HDX900 a year ago at least, now feel I should wait to see how the PDW700 takes off.. if it doesnt I,ll be running up the road to buy the HDX900 ..

Nice camera… but I think the Sony view finder is much better in general … just the ordinary BW one.
