16:9 14:9 (protected)?
Hey All,
I was just wondering what this term meant in relation to broadcast safe area?

Its a half way house between 16-9 and 4-3.Meaning shoot for the full 16-9 frame,but keep important material within a frame ratio of 14-9.Most pro 2/3 inch video camera,s have this ratio as an option as a safe area in the view finder in their menu,s.
As people get 16-9 TV,s it will become obsolete… better than 4-3 safe anyway!
