I gonna try that. Do you plan to allow the alpha chanel support in the “compositing mode” ?

it could be usefull for a lot of things :

– subtitles
– motion graphics
– opening credit, closing credit

Like that we wouldn’t need to go into AfterEffect or other compositing software to finish a film.

You did a very good upgrade with V8, it’s a pleasure to work with it.

Hello,

My favorite is curves (HUE vs HUE, Hue vs Luma…). It’s so fast to change a hue. I graded last week a project with a lot of green grass that I wanted to turn more yellow. It was very difficult with “qualifer”, but now in 10 sec it’s done.

XML works very well. I don’t understand how to duplicate a timeline, do you know ?

What could be improve :

– Interface with Tangent Wave, it’s not very smooth. (but perhaps it should be done by Tangent)

I continue to test it, but Bravo for this update.

100 % agree.

We don’t need an editing software which edits automatically. We need an editing software which allow us to work with other professionals like Colorists or sound designer… But now… it’s not possible anymore.

Perhaps for advertising it’s interesting to work very fast and the Davinci surface is usefull for that… but most of my work is for fiction films (the same for Michaël I think), and my clients never ask me to go faster.

You speak about Human… This is a rhetoric answer. DaVinci surface won’t make you Human. Because if it’s the case, it means that to be Human you need to be assisted by computers (a big paradox).

We won’t be agree, but don’t believe you do a better job than us with DaVinci surface, it’s not true and uppity.

I really don’t understand you… really.

My thread was about this solution, tested, and it works very well for us. We have the Wave and this Ipad app is perfect to complete our grading suite.

This thread is not about Ipad against DaVinci surface. If you have money to have it, bravo ! This thread is about something which can help to be more comfortable.

If you like to run after expensive material, it’s you choice, personally my clients are very happy and didn’t even notice I use a Wave and Ipad to work. For sure, they don’t come for my control surface…It’s not Hollywood here.

It is a very good idea to have color wheels. We could choose in settings what kind of GUI we would like, with Color Wheels or with color bars.
