My favourite new function (for the minute) is the noise reducer. I just finished a music video that was perfect for trying it out as there was a considerable amount of noise in the blacks and it now looks amazing. Applied in at the end in track mode and its definitely improved the images. No smearing or weird things happening in fast motion. Definitely comparable to a standalone NR like MNR10 etc.Quality product!
Some documentation on Avid workflows would be nice as I’m not Avid savvy yet.

July 1, 2011 at 5:00 amTHE XML WORKING for real !!!! is my life changing beloved new feature ,
now i can see complex edits while i am gradingi am using it since beta and is a bless :
Hue curve very useful too .
What need to be improved ? :
media managing easier (moving clips around , duplicate timelines , move a group of shots between timeline etc….) l and slightly improved timeline tools ..(ike slip using the ” < > ” keyboard buttons , see the image on the viewer while slip ,have the TC on the viewer in the coform page)
AND
A good quality Retime (speed change ) (so we can retime in davinci with frame interpolation …)
PS: i am very impressed by what BMD did between v7 and V8 , really well done

July 1, 2011 at 6:17 amHello,
My favorite is curves (HUE vs HUE, Hue vs Luma…). It’s so fast to change a hue. I graded last week a project with a lot of green grass that I wanted to turn more yellow. It was very difficult with “qualifer”, but now in 10 sec it’s done.
XML works very well. I don’t understand how to duplicate a timeline, do you know ?
What could be improve :
– Interface with Tangent Wave, it’s not very smooth. (but perhaps it should be done by Tangent)
I continue to test it, but Bravo for this update.
Thank’s from switzerland

July 1, 2011 at 5:22 pmMc color is great. I’m also running the mc transport ( technically unsupported) but can map a lot of the keyboard shortcuts to it.
Drag append grades is cool. Try it.
Transfer modes are awesome. I can get realtime 2 layer prores 422.
I’ve been testing adding a black layer on top, then giving it a transfer mode, then adjust the black node to a color for interesting looks. When they get the color bars working, I request being able to generate a solid color
I agree hue vs hue is really quick and covienient because you are really dragging a qualifier and adjusting the correction at the same time.Quico
