    Hello,

Here is the answer I got from DaVinci:

    Hi Robin,

We can’t comment on future software features, so I don’t know if we might change the current mapping or not.

In the 26 years that I’ve been with DaVinci, we’ve always had requests for custom panel mapping. So far, that has never happened. So if I had to guess, I would guess that it’s not likely to happen now, or anytime soon. But I don’t make or control those decisions, so who knows what might happen in the future?

I’ve forwarded your comments to the product manager for his consideration.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Hello,

Yes our screen is not so big, 2m X 1m.

You could try at EGLI in Zürich but not sure they have a bigger screen. Or maybe in Freestudio in Geneva. But it will be expensive.

    Hello,

We are in Switzerland. We graded several films for cinema DCP. But we don’t work on DCI projector, we have a REC709 callibrated projector.

We generate DCP here and test them in a cinema theater close to our office.

    Hello,

Step by step. (sorry for my english, I speak french)

    1) Export XML from FCP. If you created subtitles in FCP with “subtitles text”, they will be in the XML. Try to put all blocs on the same videotrack.

    2) open Annotation edit and import XML.

    3) check if the subtitles are all there, and if special signs like “*^`”etc.. are ok. And if the subtitles follow rules and regulations: https://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/archive/itc/itc_publications/codes_guidance/standards_for_subtitling/subtitling_1.asp.html

    4) export a “DLP cinema XML” from annotation edit.

    5) In export pref panel. Load the font by selecting the case. Arial 40 should be the reference.

    6) choose 1.0 and not 1.1 for DCsubtitles Version

    7) export… and enjoy. Be carfull, easyDCPcreator + doesn’t allow offsets for subtitles. It means you have maybe to offset the subtitles in AnnotationEdit.

    Hello,

I do a lot of DCPs. I use annotation EDIT for that. You can output subtitle in XML for easyDCP creator +

“I’m not talking about re-calibrating an internal emulation LUT.” This is exactly what Michael wanted to talking about.

And Dude, yes, I read your posts and I was not agree with them.
