I’m user of EasyDCP creator+. I output DPX in Rec709 from Davinci and use Rec709-> XZY conversion in EasyDCP creator+, it’s about 100% the same in the theater (I have a Theater for that too, calibrated in DCI – Barco + Dolby server).

Then the workflow is very simple Rec709->XYZ, of course if you grade with a DCI colorpsace on a DCI projector, you have to change the type of conversion in EasyDCP creator+.

I made a test for you this morning :

INPUT:
DPX 1920×1080 REC709
5760 frames
at 24fps = 4min

OUTPUT :
JPEG2000 XYZ

8’30” to do the job, then about twice the duration.

My computer : MacPro 2×2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
16Go 1066 MHz DDR3

The process for the last feature I encoded (1h30 – 1.85 1998×1080) was less than 3h30 hours.

I know… I make DCP with easyDCP creator + since two years. It’s not so long to render in JPEG2000, that’s why I was thinking about add this feature in DaVinci.

I think it’s better to ask them to be able to do the mapping ourself than to propose them a new mapping, because everyone work in a different way.

But for sure, the “outside-node” should be mapped 🙂

No, Knobs doesn’t follow the interface. In the other way it works, if you press “Qualifer” on the Tangent it will jump to Qualifer on the interface… but this doesn’t work for “Key Tab”.. strange.

Agree with Walter, hope they will accept a user mapping soon.

Oui, je suis un peu déçu. Pas au niveau de la Tangent, car c’est vraiment du bon matériel et solide. Mais le mapping est vraiment foireux. Tu l’as aussi achetée ? Je pensais pouvoir me passer de l’IPAD mais je vais le garder un moment il me sera utile pour le chargement des mémoires et l’ajout du “Outside Node” qui n’est pas mappé… no comment.

C’est fou ça, pourquoi faire un si bon software et ne pas donner la possibilité de faire le mapping comme on le souhaite ? J’imagine que c’est pour promouvoir la DaVinci pannel.
