Just got my multibridge working with an Apple cinema display as my 23″ Broadcast monitor. No problems so far at all, except the Multibridge is quite noisy (fan). A small gripe on what is so far a very easy to use and reliable product.

  • Yes please!

    Hi Bobby

I’ve had a decklink SP for some time and have just bought a multibridge extreme for my HD work. I’m still in the teething set up stage, so I’ll give some feedback soon. But in terms of support and enthusiasm to help customers achieve satisfaction BM are really top notch. They have gone beyond the call of duty to help me out in the past. And I have no problem recommending them.

Downside: I bet you look like a gay Arnold Schwarzenneger clone!

  • You had to reinstall OSX? That seems a bit dramatic. Did you have to do a complete erase and install or just a simple one?

Text in video is a bit of a trick.

There are two things to bear in mind.

    1. you are working across two different pixel sizes – square pixels on the computer, oblong pixels on tv.
If you create titles in a graphics package you need to create them in one size and then squeeze them. The measurements depend on your tv system (ntsc, pal etc.) for uk SD Pal you create in 788 and then squeeze it to 768 (x576).

    2. Because of the two different pixel shapes what you see on a computer and what you see on a TV are two different things. Ensure you view your rendered version on a tv and you may find that the text is actually fine. Again this is because of the different pixel aspect ratios.

If you search the forum this question has come up a number of times.

    Good luck

  • It’s a dual 1.25GHz with 1.25GB of Ram

The Raid is 700GB in size with the additional Hard Drive (as supplied) of 80 GB

I’ve been using it to cut 10-bit uncompressed video using a Blackmagic Decklink Card that is also currently in the machine.

If you’re interested let me know as I intend to take out the card and sell it separately on ebay soon.

I have a bunch of other equipment that I’m going to sell too if you’re interested get in touch.

    Bests to all

  • So in theory I should be in synch between computer monitor and soundsticks?

Don’t worry about the soundsticks, they’re just a temporary measure.
