    I found what I needed by doing a Google search for botanical illustration.

    Think a lot of the effects are generated out of a 3d app and cel rendered.

    There is a free Photoshop action from adobe.com that creates either NTSC or PAL automatically with a single click.

    Do a search for “Freak Shorthand” or “Freakshorthand”

    Or use Motion Gimmicks excellent plugin Add-the-Sea. Inexpensive, easy-to-use and has coastal detection, wake creation and wave break.

    Thanks for the advice.

    Great tutorial by John Dewar. I am surprised that After Effects has no built-in compositing tools – considering it is industry-standard software for compositing.

    I might have to invest in the Walker plugin or Compisite Wizard. Sigh!

    Found the problem – Hypernurb Render Subd was set to 6. I reset it to 3 and the machine happily chugged away!

    the changes will only be single lines and four words maximum so no problem with kerning or text wrapping.

    thanks thats great.

    actually I do own Trapcode Shine and Trapcode 3dStroke but not their Particular plugin that generates fireworks, pixie dust etc.. hence the enquiry.
