Are you trying to encode a quicktime file?

I load quicktime files to my website and this is what I do:

For 16:9, try exporting with an image size of 480X270. Audio can be ACC, Mono, 44.1Khz 64bit. The data rate can be 800kbits per second and still maintain some nice image quality.

I do all this with success, except since I still work with DV 4:3, I export an image of 480X320 instead.

I don’t have an esata card yet, so I don’t even know if the card is the problem, but if it is, I read that Sonnet makes some good esata cards.

Hi,

DPI has nothing to do with video. The only thing that matters is the pixel dimensions of the image. Therefore, if you are working with 720p, your jpg image needs to be at least 1280X720 pixels to fill the screen with no loss in quality. If you want to scale the image and pan to create the Ken Burns effect, then your image should be twice that of the format you are working in. So in this case, 2560X1440 pixels.

lol, that’s funny you brought up the music, bruce. My teacher said I should take it down. Since then I have re-edited the piece, I just haven’t taken it down yet since I’m making my own custom website. I should get on that.

Don’t get me wrong. I’ve done my fair share of free work. And I don’t just bust my ass in school, I bust my ass outside of school as well. I have no social life. But I have no complaint, and my initial post wasn’t a complaint. It just seems that everywhere I turn, someone is looking for a a free editor with their own edit bay who will work for free, or someone is looking for a videographer who has gear that costs thousands of dollars who will work for free. In my initial post I was simply asking if all the professionals who visit the Cow experienced this when they were getting out of college too.

And I definitely understand the value of an internship. Technically, if you are there learning, you are not working for free. In my opinion, at that point knowledge is more valuable than money.

To elaborate on what Rafael said, .dv is not supported by FCP. The reason why you don’t want to use .dv is because .dv does not split the audio and video, which is what you want. That is why with FCP, you can capture JUST audio if you want, or JUST video if you want – because the DV-NTSC codec does split the audio and video.

Could it be 48 rotations? Start a keyframe at -24 rotations and end with a keyframe at +24 rotations. I’m just guessing. I’ve never needed to make something spin that much. Seems like a lot.
