MotionVFX has quite a few great templates.

It’s done on the Project level. Select a Project in the Browser and then in the Inspector window you’ll see the three-arrow icon. It’s called the “Share Inspector”. You can fill out the fields there and FCP will remember your custom settings for that particular Project.

It’s probably the cache location. Most applications use both RAM and the cache location as temporary storage while they’re processing files. My assumption is that your cache is set to the Library or some other place on your local disk.

If you’re able, you should purchase a really fast separate 1 to 2 TB drive and use it only for the cache location.

As Doug stated, there is no need to compress or change the resolution of any of the files. Import the video files, and then set your project to the resolution you want (based on your original question, I’m assuming it 1920×1080), then start editing.

I did some digging around about the Mac Studio TB4 ports and buses. All current “M” Macs have one TB4 bus for each port. So, the M1 Max will have four TB4 buses, and the M1 Ultra will have six TB4 buses.

Try using a dedicated app for copying files. I use Hedge, but you can also give Pomfort’s Silverstack or OWC’s new app Copy That a try.

Most effects and transitions don’t translate well if at all between any of the popular editing applications. The flip effect in Final Cut is one of those that doesn’t work.

Under the “File” menu, choose “Relink Files” and pick which media you’d like to relink. Final Cut Pro will automatically match the proxies and the originals.

I could be wrong but I don’t think you’ll notice the difference with a RAID 0 using that particular OWC device on your MBP. If you do decide to RAID the drives, be sure to have a backup. On a RAID 0 volume, if any of the drives fail, your data is lost and gone forever.

You could just use the newly graded clips, as long as the colorist didn’t change the duration of any of the clips you should be able to swap them out manually. It might take some time but should work.

It may be that your MacBook Pro is missing the actual font used to create the text on the iMac.

ExFat can handle the larger files sizes such as those from video files and it’s for disks that are larger than 32GB. There is a newer format for windows called NTFS but it’s not supported by macOS.

Use your Mac’s Disk Utility application to erase and format the drive to ExFat.

Did you select the “Copy to library” in the import window? Also, when you consolidate media, you can also choose to consolidate the original media to a specific location/folder.
