Import is mostly deprecated. The emphasis now is on linking and editing with linked files or linking and transcoding or rewrapping.

Yep and I forget the exact month, but it’s something like 2020-10 before it works well as I recall.

    Take care,

Does it happen on more than one clip?

    LOL,

Not me of course. I updated my profile to show one of my headshots.

I’m in Houston and there is a construction company owner in San Antonio who is also Robert Ober. It’s interesting because Robert is common, but Ober is not.

Thanks for letting us know the workaround.

I’m thinking one can export to something like DNxHD with the markers, then transcode that in ffmpeg to h.264 or h.265. Keep in mind that mp4 is a container, not a codec. Both matter.

Glad you got something to work,

    Good,

I think Handbrake is ffmpeg underneath. It does not have all the options one can do in ffmpeg at the command line. ffmpeg is a good thing to learn.

As far as the bitrate in Resolve, I believe I have had it work in some previous version. It’s possible that the version you are using is broken. Those compressed outputs is apparently not something the Resolve devs spend a lot of time of fixing. In addition to that the AAF to Avid is broken again.

Glad to see Bob is mellowing;-)

Some folks can’t afford to replace working equipment until it fails and is not repairable. And even then for some. Especially under the current conditions where income producing may be challenging.

Hope you folks are well and good,

I would export the video in a mezzanine codec such as DNxHD and then transcode it in free tool ffmpeg. You can use something like https://laptrinhx.com/an-ffmpeg-gui-for-windows-3310232332/ as a frontend (GUI) to ffmpeg. ffmpeg by itself is command line only. Jan Ozer has books and online training that cover working with ffmpeg. He is at https://streaminglearningcenter.com/

    Hope that helps,

By the way, the latest is not always the greatest when it comes to drivers and Desktop Video. In addition to that, the drivers from the manufacturer are often better than the Microsoft drivers.
