I don’t think the GT-120 will cut alone, it it is a really low end card.

I use the Stanley Kubrick button in DaVinci Resolve all the time….
I think we should invite Steve Jobs for the Hitchcock “Rope” button test…

It should work fine, I am running the basic Decklink SDI (HD) for monitoring and it works fine. Waiting for the Decklink 4K approval….

Maybe we could do a feature request… a skin tone fix button…. would that be the equivalent of Final Cut X’s “Ken Burns” button?
No seriously XFCP actually has a “Ken Burns” button… I almost puked on the 17″ Macbook at the Apple store when I saw it….

August 22, 2011 at 1:39 pm in reply to: color grading by watching preview window in softwareThe display port hardware is theoretically capable of 10bit but the software (i.e. Mac OSX) only displays 8bit color. Apple has not implemented 10bit in the OS and have a history of lagging very far behind other OS’s support of GPU tech..
Here is a long thread on the Adobe Photoshop forum complaining about Apple’s lack of support for 10bit monitoring.

August 20, 2011 at 10:22 pm in reply to: color grading by watching preview window in softwareConsider that all computer displays are 8bit which is what causes the banding to begin with. I would say no to grading on the computer display but your mileage may vary….

The GPU power available on Wintel machines is pretty amazing, Apple has always been very far behind in supporting GPU’s and gaming in general. There a few people out there making these cards run on Hackintosh machines and I think there is a guy on Reduser who had GTX580 cards running on Lion.
