  • I have the same problem here, I always thought it was an Apple issue, but the same setup, the same problem, my other machines without multibridge don’t suffer from this problem.

    The thing is, our offline editors work on AVID (only) and we want to finish in FCP…

    I would love to have them switched to FCP though, but that’s going to take more time than recapturing (-;

    Thanks, Rob

    I wanted this setup as well, and it turned out that FCP was not able to do it. But the Decklink Deck Control app is doing fine. We used a HD camera connected to a HD-CAM SR deck (free run timecode). Capturing was done through through DL Deck Control and footage imported into FCP with timecode. There was an issue however with software version 5.6 (if I remember right), this should have been resolved in version 5.7.3. I have not been able to check this yet.

    A real advantage of this setup is: you don’t need downconvertors, you can either capture uncompressed if your disks allow this or capture in DVCproHD codec on the fly.

    Turns out the Decklink 5.7 driver was the culprit here, installed the 5.6.2 and got everything working again…

    I am afraid I was not that lucky, Since the 5.1.2 upgrade I have kernel panics while booting and I had to uninstall the card to be able to work, I have no idea how to downgrade to 5.1.1, so I can’t use my Decklink (HD PCI-X) card for now…

    I had the same crash (G5 2.0 DP), after three crashes I tried starting while holding the command/apple key together with the V-key (for verbose startup mode) and funny enough the system made it passed the grey screen (maybe just luck?)

    I downgraded to 5.6.2 anyway just to be sure…

    I noticed indeed that BMD deck control showed the TimeCode in the app. But I am afraid that it is impossible to have deck control do “Capture Now” as FCP does, or am I wrong?
