I’ll give that shot for the 5D stuff!

The FCP project is 2398, as is the XML.

The cuts points are all correct, its the clips that it isn’t conforming properly. Something to do with lack of/wrong information in the R3Ds/ProRes transcodes? Yet there is reel information entered for every clip?

    Hmm..

I know there is a fix for this.. its somewhere on this board.. anyone?!

I checked the timing tab on the clips in FCP.. there is no difference in how they are set up between the ones that conformed properly into Resolve and the ones that are completely off. (wrong clip entirely)

    Any ideas?

Also, the 5D stuff is just grabbing from the beginning of the clip. (00:00:00:00)..

The full DaVinci Resolve is now pirated and available on torrent website, working without a dongle.

If someone was willing to break into your office, hack the retinal scanner and dodge the laser anti theft system to steal a dongle, before downloading a pirated version, they’d be pretty insane.

    my prediction..

for web series and music videos this will become the go to camera.

It will also take a nice dent out of places trying to rent out scarlets.

    Thanks for the info!!

It turns out EasyDCP can not do 3D Subs, (like you said) so they’ll have to be burned in to the image, wich is fine as it wont play without subs in this region anyway.

Manually creating a left and right in FCP seems to be working great from some tests.

For the 2D version we’ll use A.Edit and not burn them in.

Ok, we have all of our subtitles from FCP in A.Edit. and it all matches up..

Still not sure how we would deal with the stereo aspect?

We have a program called “Dashwood Stereo 3d text generator” which can generate stereo subs inside of FCP.. but how would we get that out of FCP and into eDCP? Bring it into Annotation edit?

    Ok,
I’ll try importing our xml from FCP to annotation edit and then export from annotation edit to easy dcp?

Whats the workflow on making use of whats been done in FCP?

Also, does anything special need to be done if its a stereo film, in terms of subtitles?

Thats the thing, I just did it again, for whatever reason it is grabbing the file from the left eye folder even though I’ve told it to go with the right eye.

When I locate in media pool it shows me that its grabbing from Left.

It’s only for a couple of dozen or so shots, but I cant figure out why it would do this.

    Yeah,
That has worked on a ton of sessions so far, for some reason this particular EDL was causing problems.

I wasn’t even trying to go L and R yet, just copying the sequence on the same session, in fact, even if I moved the sequence at all, like selected the entire sequence, and moved it, it would alter the entire sequences dissolves.

It turns out that the editor was dissolving out and cutting to a slug, then dissolving into the next shot. Wherever he did this it caused this problem.

When he changed it so that then dissolve connected into the slug, everything was fine.
