Thanks John …. will use those templates.

I just checked and it puts the “=” alongside the “DVD Architect PAl video stream”, I will instead swap to use the one you advise “DVD Architect PAl Widescreen video stream

Do I set ‘output type” to be DVD or mpeg2 ?

One thing I am still unclear of under the options, is the Video bit rate.
I use VBR 2-pass ( and although not an option here normally tick to use my CUDA card)

For this template it defaults to

    Max bps 9,5000,000
    Avg bps 6,000,000

Is there a guide somewhere that lists the bps setting for optimum quality for given output format ?

If anyone has a link to point me to rather than have to explain something that perhaps should be obvious to me feel free 🙂

On the Dolby Digital AC-3 (*.ac3) … there are 2 options:
    Stereo DVD
    Stereo DVD, AGC on

Any guide as to when AGC would or should be used ?

No separate mic … built into body of camera unfortunately.
I’ll try playing with Low pass …

Took a bit of a while to figure out how to use ‘solo’ function, not had call to use this before, and how to put track back without stretching time-line … but got there.

Once I realised you have to use ‘ctl click’ to deselect and initially it deselects all audio, then do it again to select it worked.

Then you can open copy in SF as I wanted to. 🙂
    Thanks … I have a way forward.

I have a separate Q on noise reduction .. but will open separate thread.

OK that would explain it …

I understand Phil’s comment .. but it is just a convoluted number of steps …

Is there a way to have all events on a track be ‘grouped’ into single event (which is what rendering out does)
In the same way you concatenate files in many programs, even if it has to create it as a new track.
then a right click and “open copy in Sound editor” would work.

Thanks .. I raised the separate Q’s to avoid complicating the issue, wasn’t trying to be difficult.

Been 5 days on trying to get this sorted.
I sort of expected Vegas & DVD architect to be easier when it came to creating the DVD ……… I was wrong.

If I select ‘elementary stream’ in system tab there is no choice it states it will create mpa & m2v files … no option to select audio codec.

I could of course render twice and use AC3 template ………… seems strange that it allows invalid elementary streams ? … is there a reason for that ?
