Vegas Pro 12
Windows 8 (updates turned off)
The spin transition is part of Vegas, not an add on (same thing I’ve been using since Sonic Foundry Vegas 3)
I’ll get the rest of the info later tonight -
I’m on my iPad at work right now, but I’ll get the screen shots of the settings when I get home tonight.
So far, Main Concept is the only codec that allows me to render in 4K as the others I’ve tried usually result in errors before the render even starts.

OK, I tried sumthin a little different this time…..
I resized the photos a little smaller thinking it was just overtaxing my laptop, but it wasn’t the case, however, I changed up the transitions a bit using both spin and fade.
On the spin transitions, you can see the pixelation, but the fading transitions all look smooth

Again, this was a 4k render (MainConcept AVC/AAC)
Could it be that the spin transition just isn’t compatible with 4k renders? (it works fine on 1080)
As for the song, I did a search for Royalty Free music on YouTube for a video I made for the Scotty Kilmer channel

The video files pretty much look identical to what you see on YouTube
The first vid I posted (4k render) shows excellent drone footage, but the transitions and stills are pixelated.
The second vid (MPEG2 1080) shows decent drone footage, smooth transitions and good photo quality (granted, the stills were taken by my cell phone)
Here’s a link to my car show gallery with all the photos used in the videos

After choosing a pic, left click to enlarge, then right click to save.
I didn’t mess with the GPU setting, but I just checked and it is off.

OK, just tried it again using the matched video settings and Main Concept AVC/AAC and it seems I still have the same problem ☹
The drone footage itself looks fine, but the transitions and photos look pixelated

Hey George, thanks for chiming in….
I’m not familiar with the different codecs and just used MainConcept cause it seems to be the only one I can customize for 4k.
I only recently found out I was able to do this thanks to a video on YouTube
Anyways, I tried another render in AVC HD 1080 and it seems about the same as the MPEG2 version, but still only uploads to YouTube as a 1080 video.

How would I go about rendering in a 4k format and still retain quality of the photos taken?
As for the source media:
W: 4096
H: 2160
Data Rate: 59913kbps
Total Bitrate: 59913kbps
Frame Rate: 23fpsAs for the photos (random photo chosen)
W: 5312 pixels
H: 2988 pixelsBear with me as I’m still a noob when it comes to this stuff

Turned out to be an easy fix (drive update)
Now my brightness buttons work as they should and it no longer turns on the 3d emitter when I start Vegas.
-
The emitter is just a little doohicky on the top of the screen that allows you to use the 3D shutter glasses.
I’m sure it’s just sumthin in the settings.
The emitter automagically turns on when you pop in a DVD, so it probably just senses the same thing when I start Vegas.
Anyways, other than that, it seems to work fine.
It’s lightyears ahead of my old Satellite and 1080p footage plays clearly in the preview screen while editing.
I’ve only had time to upload a couple of renders (my connection sucks)
