Today I shot some footage in both 3840×2160 @ 30fps as well as 1080 @ 96fps (which actually only recorded in 29fps for some reason)
I did a few trial renders using various clips and all of the 3D style transitions
In 4k, I still have the same issue
Also rendered the 1080 clips in 4k and still had transition issue
Switched to Internet HD 1080 and all clips turned out fine, but again, just not as crisp, so I guess it’s not the video clips at all, just the 4k codec causing the hangup

I’ll try the MediaInfo stuff when I get back from our BBQ
I did try your settings and this is what I came up with:

Didn’t use any photos in this video, just cut a bunch of clips and used different transitions including fade and 3D blinds
The fade isn’t as clean as it should be, but not too bad, however, the 3D blinds show horrible degradation during the transitions
