With perhaps a DVD-Menu program you could create an auto-exec file that launches a menu that would allow the user to choose to play the DVD or play the Flash…

Warning! You will have major cross-platform issues. Also, some PC’s will automatically try to launch the DVD player if it sees a Video TS folder on the disc…that could usurp the menu idea.

However, if you used eDVD from Sonic and the Mac’s DVD@ccess you could add a menu item that would launch the flash movie when clicked, therwise it would behave like a regular DVD, on a set top or in a PC.

Couple long threads in the Apple DVD Studio Pro forum about this subject…

Plextor is the best, and most expensive drive for burning. Pioneer is a close second. As for media, I only use Maxell and have had few if any rejections. DVD-R only. I stay away from Verbatim media.

I only burn critical discs at 1 or 2x…never more, even with 8x media. I burn DVD-ROM backups at 4x.

Exactly what Mark said…..I also find if I add that I can put their video in a Powerpoint they get all perky as well.

Basically show that you know your chops because you work with many clients like them and you know where the needs are and how to deliver.

Get MPEG Streamclip (Google search)…..the best there is in a free transcoder.

Somehow CS2 has also felt “bloated” to me. Slower opening the app, slower opening files etc. Not enough new stuff to entice me to wait so I’m back to CS for now.

This is a similar issue using an encoder like Bitvice and not getting the markers that you would if you used compressor…sometimes it’s a trade off.

Don’t have an answer about using filters in Flash…are they filters you can apply with cleaner first, then run the result through the flash encoder?

June 9, 2006 at 1:54 am in reply to: burn speed?

You might want to do a search on this forum about burn speeds…couple things. First it is almost unanimous that you should do an advance Build and build the VideoTS and AudioTS to the hard drive and use Toast (where you have full control of the burn speed etc). Also burning at 2x or 1x is recommended for a master disc, or a client copy where you require the least chance of errors.

Did you also get the Quicktime Pro with the QT download? Did you check sorenson’s site to see if there is a new update for QT 7?
