Thank you. I reset the Apple Mouse and that seemed to solve the problem. Very alarming. I thought it was an unintended software update. I’m in the middle of a big edit and can’t afford the down time.

Are the Proxy files the same name as the original RED files (hopefully)? I’m guessing the sound files are in the timeline. So really for final edit the original audio files are OK and in place in the timeline. Are you doing audio mix in the timeline or will you be doing a AUDIO POST PROCESS in addition to your audio edit?

What hardware do you have? Is it any more recent than FCP7?

December 11, 2017 at 10:00 pm in reply to: Editing SD of HD

As far as I know, DVD and BR discs are no longer supported by Adobe or Apple. Toast Titanium has some rudimentary authoring capability. Stay out of SD world because everything will ultimately be HD and SD will be abandoned as it already has in some places. If you can’t deliver HD your organization will go around you to get things done when quality counts (as in marketing and fund-raising efforts). Once you are seen as second-rate your days of employment are numbered. Sell that SD camera and get something in HD even if it is only a basic set up. If your employer won’t buy it, consider purchasing it yourself. You’ll need it anyway when you go freelance.

I assume you have a bunch of different cameras/ camera angles stacked up in your timeline. In which case a 2GB card may not be enough. Having done this for awhile and used several workstations my experience is that your video card is at least as important as your processor speed and RAM.

December 11, 2017 at 7:26 pm in reply to: Using a color matte with a green screen

You have a flat background so that will probably always look flat because that is exactly what it is. A quick fix might be to put a VIgnette on it using Lumetri. Darken the edges of the matte and preserve the center color.

March 22, 2017 at 1:34 pm in reply to: Save editable titles for use in another project

I din’t think of that but it is a great idea! Thanks so much!

I have a bunch of great clients. They all have logos and different text and graphic standards to which we must conform. SO everytime I start a project the first thing I have to do is set up a graphic “grid” for all the display graphics. Those are a combination of Photoshop files (no problem) and Titles within premiere (big time waster).

    This should work well.

I have discovered that I can close my destination project open the project from which I want to copy a title, browse to that title within the project / bin folder, copy the titles I need, then close my source project and open the destination project. I can then simply paste those title files into whatever bin I want. The resultant titles are editable.

OK but where does Premiere store these files? I can’t find them.
