If you are able to create a black and white animation of it with some blur, then you just have to apply a displacement map on it, the result of the bachground distortion would be perfect.

Hi Pierre Jasmin, i don’t know why someone would by a Mac and install Windows, but that’s possible. Take a look at http://www.apple.com to check it out, there is a TV add explaining that.

Well, kind of complicated to explain detailed and any comp would be different, but I’d do this:

Track the part of the body where the tatto is going to be.
Apply displacemant map.
Set the transfer mode to Overlay to keep the sink’s texture and bright.
A few corrections and it’s done.
Hard work, but not impossible.

Hi friend, sorry to say that, but there are a few ways you can do this and the tutorial they gave you is not for any kind of images, the most used way is to roto the image (hard work) creating a mask and animating it.
You can also use vector paint to create an alpha channel, but you have to paint it frame by frame too.
Sorry to say that, but this kind of work is really a hard work. I you find out an easy way to do it, please let us know. -

To make things easier, try to record you character in front of a een screen, then key it, so the echo effect does not repeat al the foreground.

Well, 3D stroke is not actually a 3d object, so it can’t interact with any 3D layer from After effects, the only way to simulate it, is masking as people told you.
Pre-compose the 3D Stroke layer so it is consider as a flat video and then, duplicate it and mask one to the foreground and another for the background.
