February 7, 2012 at 12:23 am in reply to: Installing the new ProAnimator 5?

My original v5 install was on a Win 7 box. Never could get it to run.

Now I am trying to install on a Vista box. I have had a version 4 ProAnimator installed and it worked fine.

First of all, after I install v5, I had to hunt for the executable? Why is that?
Now when I execute ProAnimator App.exe the “Please personalize your copy….” comes up and I choose Demo.
The ProAnimator splash screen comes up, then the ProAnimator “Create 2D Text, Open Illustrator File…etc.” comes up.
I select “Create 3D Text” and I get a “ProAnimator Has Stopped Working” failure???

    Ideas?

    Thanks,

    Ray

Most of the exploding text tutorials I have found are quite lengthy. Also, I do not own After Effects for instance.

However, I did find a program that has this effect built in.
Corel’s MotionStudio 3D! A pretty neat program. I downloaded the evaluation version. It pretty much does what I want.

    Thanks for the response!

Well I thought that users of AE have a knowledge of other programs!

I tried creating a gif animation. It’s pretty good, but when I save to an avi
    it looks like crap!

I’m still seeing weird stuff. Like the faceguard moving into the helmet
    instead of staying stationary.

Maybe this is not the program to be using for this?

I got ya. However, how do you get to the “Transition” controls?
I don’t see it in the Animation controls window.

    Ok, to simplify…

    I import a 3ds model of a football helmet.

I select the entire object and group it.

    I add an Object Track.

    I pick any object animation.

Run the animation and all parts of the object move on
    their own?

    Ideas?
