As I understand, it is okay for me to scale down my 1920×1080 Square Pixel pre-comp into a DV NTSC Widescreen sequence. I should ignore the squeeze and render out a MPEG2-DVD file. Once I bring the sequence into Encore and select Widescreen, the image will normalize.

    Does this sound correct?

Would I get higher quality results if I render out a full quality 1920×1080 Animation format file and then transcode inside Encore? Or will I not be able to properly tweak the Aspect Ration/Resolution?

    Thanks!

Yep, thanks. Just read up a bit more on multi-cam editing and seems doable. I’ll be slating and either manually syncing in Avid or using PluralEyes.

Figured it out. Right clicked keyframe -> keyframe interpolation -> linear.

I think that just answered my question. I turned off multiple processing and was able to watch the entire length of the working space. I assume this solution is only recommended for comps that aren’t processor intensive.

Would a RAM preview of a 3D comp with lights qualify as ‘processor intensive’?

    Thanks,

Thanks, I’ve reviewed this section – nothing really answers my question. I typically can RAM preview working spaces much longer than 14 seconds of the same material or the same material + 12 layers beneath it. If I missed something please let me know.

    Thanks,

  • Thanks for the help Mike. I sent Black Magic support an email about the issue.

  • Hi Jeff,

I appreciate the help. The issue is that when I create 1:1 MXF files in Avid and try to open them in Resolve Lite 8.1.1, the files do not show up in the clip browser. They are invisible.

I did a test with DNxHD 175 files and those worked just fine.

So I’m looking for some help to figure out why they do not show up. They were 5D footage that eventually was onlined to 1:1.

    Thanks,
    Randy
